In line with this, beyond our core research activities, we leverage our scientific capacity to provide services to benefit patients and the broader scientific ecosystem in which we work. Our in-house advanced molecular biology and diagnostics lab offers a range of diagnostic and sequencing services.
Molecular Diagnostics
GeneStrat™ EGFR ctDNA
GeneStrat is a non-invasive, blood-based test analyzing circulating tumor DNA and RNA, designed to provide fast, accurate results for newly diagnosed non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.
GeneStrat blood-based mutation testing offers significant advantages for patients and their treating clinicians over standard tissue testing, which can delay treatment and increase patient risk due to complications from an invasive biopsy.
GeneStrat results can support critical treatment decisions as early as initial diagnosis, and can expedite appropriate treatment for patients. This test can also be used to follow up response to targeted therapy.
HPV Genotyping
Our Sheba HPV Test combines self-sampling and molecular diagnostics in one product for discreet and convenient HPV screening. Samples can be dropped off at our various collection points and results available within five working days. The Sheba Test detects 15 high and medium risk cancer-causing strains of HPV, which are linked to 99% of cervical cancer cases.
SMA Genetic Testing Program
The SMA Genetic Testing Program is a Roche initiative aimed at improving access to advanced molecular diagnostics. Following a recommendation from a partner clinician, patients from Ghana, Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire are offered a free blood test for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) mutations. Samples are processed in Yemaachi Biotech’s Accra laboratory. Our SMA tests have a 90% accuracy rate (1) and are recommended for those with a family history of the disease. The test can also be useful for those without a history of SMA as 1 in 50 people, irrespective of ethnic background can still be a carrier of SMA (2).

COVID-19 PCR
Yemaachi Biotech Limited is a Ghana Health Service-accredited COVID-19 testing laboratory, and a PanaBIOS Trusted Testing Center, authorised to issue Travel Certificates. We offer Drive-Up Testing and In-Residence Testing.
